The Curse of the Coronavirus... and an academic way through!

During the past few weeks, shock and awe has descended upon us all with the ever-increasing threat of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Although the Government are trying to keep the hysteria contained as well as the virus itself, it seems as though schools and universities within mainland UK will be closing pretty imminently in a bid to slow down the contagiousness of this horrible virus.

From an educational point of view, this isn't quite as disasterous as it once could have been.

There are now a host of excellent home-schooling sites available online and for those parents who are either at home or being supported to stay in 'lock-down' it's a perfect opportunity to spend very precious one-to-one time with your child.

For those interested in helping out with Maths, there are sites such as :

* Funbrain

*Prodigy

*Math Playground

* Splash Learn

For English we have:

* Duolingo

* Ted Talks

*BBC Learning

*Twinkl

For Science there is:

*Discovery Mindblown

* Amazing Space

*NASA kids club

* Code Academy

and for all other curiosities you can try PBS kids or Hello Kids. There are also the Cbeebies and CBBC websites offering great educational diversions for those who have access to the internet.
